Pub Theology is back in 2 weeks!
TOPIC: Abortion and Human Rights
Two years ago Pope Francis declared that the "defence of unborn life is closely linked to the defence of each and every other human right" and that "Reason alone is sufficient to recognize the inviolable value of each single human life." In this presentation Brendan Malone will explore these two important points, and show how human reason, science and philosophy all strongly refute the arguments used in favour of abortion, and why support for abortion is a contradictory position to adopt if a society claims to be truly committed to respecting human rights.
Brendan Malone is a married father of five children from Rangiora, New Zealand. He has worked full time for the pro-life movement in NZ for more than ten years, as well as previously having worked for the Catholic Diocese of Christchurch as their director of young adult ministry. He is now the new Head of Media at Focus on the Family New Zealand, and he regularly speaks at events in NZ and Australia, as well as running the annual 6 day pro-life internship in New Zealand every July.
