Project in Toronto with Sky Gilbert for young queer writer creators

Are you a young queer writer creator between the ages of 18 and 30? Seeking folks to be part of a three day workshop and one evening performance for early June 2015. It’s produced by The Cabaret Company, directed by Sky Gilbert, and it’s called The Kitchen Party Nervous Breakdown Reality TV Show. It will feature 10 young actors creating queer characters through improvisation. The plot is this: we are at a party in someone’s kitchen and 6 queer couples are having arguments. One person will blow -- that is have a kind of breakdown. Who will it be? After watching approximately one half hour of the piece the audience will vote, and see if they are right or wrong when somebody loses it. THE DETAILS The performance will be for one night only for an invited audience of theatre people (to expose all you talented young ‘uns to lots of producers, etc..). The piece will be videotaped so that we can turn this into a 20 minute TV show to be put on the web. - You will be paid an honorarium for the workshop and for the performance ($100). - The tentative dates are 4th-6th June (10am-6pm) for rehearsal and evening peformance Mon June 8. The work will be directed by Sky Gilbert and assisted by Sunny Drake.
