The 5/6 piece band is ever evolving, and in their music, portray the diversity of the Far North. The original music of Koahlition can be described as roots, rock, reggae with a quirky Aussie twang and a South Pacific breeze. With influences from the Torres Strait and P.N.G, growing up in and around the Far North and a love for Reggae music the band members have come together as a “Koahlition” spreading their music of positive vibes interwoven with ideas of social conscience The family oriented band consists of songwriter Rohan Rusch who fronts up on guitar and lead vocal, his partner Tracy adds some lush harmonies and lead vocals complemented nicely by cousin Sharmaine Drieberg-Cullen. Son Adric, formerly of Skinflint, a popular grunge band in mid 2000 in the Far North, goes back to his roots again on bass. The family are of German/ Sri Lankan and Australian heritage. Cousin Sharmaine also has roots in PNG. Hailing from Saibai Island in the Torres Strait is guitar wizard Moses Warusam, a talented and devoted lead guitarist and songwriter, playing some deadly guitar and songs to compliment the band.
