Poetry From Place:
Adult Poetry Workshop
Sunday, May 17, 1-3 pm
Crabtree Nature Center, 3 Stover Road, Barrington Hills
Explore how the emotional attachment you have to a place can be a powerful trigger for new poetry. We will read aloud poems seeped in place and also listen to a few songs. Then we’ll use prompts to create our own poetry. The last half of the class will include a walk through Crabtree Nature Center – gaining inspiration from its arching trees, quiet waters and winding paths.
This poetry workshop is for you if:
• You love to write poetry and want a new place of inspiration
• You have always wanted to write poetry but need help getting started
• You need to recharge yourself with an afternoon of art and inspiration
For adults and teens. The class is free, but registration is requested:
Please dress appropriately for a walk in the woods. You may bring your own paper and favorite pen, or supplies will be provided for you. In the event of bad weather, we’ll use nature photos as inspiration.
Entrance is on Palatine Road, one mile west of Barrington Road
