The final subscription concert of the season will feature the world premiere of "Pedro Páramo," a piece commissioned from Colombian-American composer Alba Potes. Her inspiration is the eponymous short novel by Juan Rulfo, which tells the story of a man's quest to find his estranged father and instead finding that his parents' home town has become a ghost town inhabited by the shades of the dead.
Peter Tantsits, tenor
Dan Kempson, baritone
Alfonso Díaz, narrator
The program also includes "Where the Willows Meet" by Danish composer Niels Rosing-Schow, which sets to music poems by James Joyce on the themes of love and music.
