Exit Dance Festival is a pilot project bringing artists , teachers and performing artists from various background to share their work through workshops , discussions and performance. collaborating with musicians as well as theatre practitioners investigating theatre, dance and music with live performance. combines pedagogy and multi disciplinary as well as exchange and invention.

PauseFlowExit invites teachers and practitioners to build artistic network as well as collaborations between participants and invited artists.This gathering of artists will take us further through artists in residency projects across India. this program is a meeting point where artists take there work further through collaboration with organisation and communities. we are building a team of collaborators who can help to take this process further through out the next 3 years organising various programs across the country.
Rukmini Vijayakumar Is the Director of her Classical Dance Company Raadha Kalpa and her new art space LshVa, Rukmini had an initial exposure to ballet, but her primary training through her early years was in Bharatanatyam. She furthered her knowledge of Bharatanatyam by studying, Sanskrit, Tala & Carnatic music.In 2008, she graduated with honors, with a BFA in Modern dance and Ballet from the Boston Conservatory. Studying, Graham, Taylor, Horton, Limon’ techniques, she was also exposed to Alexander technique, Pilates, Laban, Stage design, Choreography, Dance history, Anatomy, Pedagogy, among other subjects. She has studied Gross Anatomy and Exercise physiology at Boston University, and Nutrition, Biomechanics at UCLA. Rukmini studied Film and Theater at the New York Film academy and at the Ivana Chubbuck studios. She has been a yoga practitioner from the age of 7, studying with various teachers through the years.
Diya Naidu is a dancer, facilitator and choreographer. Her movement training includes ISTD Jazz Ballet, Matt Mattox Jazz Technique, Martial Art training, Yoga, Body Conditioning and Contemporary Dance techniques . She has also trained in Bharatanatyam, Kathak, Contact work, Improvisation and Basic ballet. Her contemporary expression is influenced by all of the above. She is interested in both intensely physical and challenging approaches to practicing dance, as well as in engaging with movement and the body from a somatic and organic point of exploration and self-discovery.
She interned with The Danceworx , New Delhi for three years, after which she was a repertory member and teacher with Rythmosaic ( a Kolkata based Kathak and Jazz company). In 2006 she became a student at The Attakkalari Centre For Movement Arts, Bangalore and received her Diploma in Movement Arts and Mixed Media. She was a member of Attakkalari's repertory company form 2007 to 2014, dancing in several full length productions that were performed all over India as well as Internationally. She was an active member of the educational outreach project, teaching both community and schools. In 2009, she began to make independent choreography and has presented in festivals in India and abroad. She holds a degree in English Literature from Delhi University.
Deepak Kurki Shivaswamy a Contemporary performing artist from Bangalore India has been engaged in artistic work as a performer, creator and teacher since year 2000. He has trained and worked with dance companies like Attakkalari in India and Bodhi project, Danshuisstationzuid , Hausgemacht in Europe. He completed a post graduate diploma in choreography at S.E.A.D in Austria in 2008. His dance creations have been showcased in venues in India and Europe. Presently based in Bangalore India, he is the co-founder of an art collective The Kha Foundation.
Abhilash Ningappa is born in India. He is a Performer, teacher, choreographer and Artistic director of Play Practice artists Residency In India. He post graduated in SEAD (Salzburg) and Post Masters in APASS (Advanced performance and scenography studies) (Belgium). A yoga practitioner and a martial art teacher, trained in kalari payattu and contemporary dance, started his training in India and later travelled around India and Europe working and practicing.
He has worked with choreographers such as Constanza macras in "Back to the present" and “The Past”, Michele keleminis "Caroline and Abhilash" and in Ireland, with Rex levitates Dance Company. He performs with Katie duck and also a guest teacher for Magpie Summer Apprenticeship program. "Bodies in urban spaces" by Willie Dorner, and "Icosahedron" by Tania Carvalho
