The great flood is returning to Johnstown -- a flood of RUNNERS! The first Path of the Flood races were held on June 1, 2014, and were originally conceived as a one-time event as part of the commemoration of the Johnstown Flood's 125th anniversary. But the event proved to be so popular that the Johnstown Area Heritage Association is bringing it back on an annual basis. The races are scheduled for Saturday, May 23, 2015.
As in 2014, the races will include a 5K and a half marathon, but a 10K will be added this year. A spectator bus is also new this year, providing transportation to people who want to see the start of the half marathon near the Johnstown Flood National Memorial.
Registration deadline is April 30, and fees are as follows:
Half marathon: $50 for all runners
10K: $35 for ages 18 and up, (17 years of age and under are free)
5K: $25 for ages 18 and up (17 years of age and under are free).Onsite, day-of-race registration will also be available for the 5K only.
