Directly from Fiji via the dramatic performance Moana: The Rising of the Sea comes one of the leading choral ensembles in the Pacific islands. Pasifika Voices' repertoire spans many styles, and for this particular concert they have put together a programme based on the islanders' deep religious roots. On the Pacific islands, emotional choral song in village churches is an important part of everyday life.
Pasifika Voices is led by Tuilagi Igelese Ete, a Samoan composer, arranger and conductor, who is known as the choirmaster in the film series Lord of the Rings, among other things. Through song we glimpse the young singers' family histories and culture.
