PARTY FEARS THREE
Now firmly established as one of the leading eighties cover/tribute bands in the UK, Party Fears Three are back in Edinburgh on Saturday 30th May 2015, at The Liquid Room. Hot on the heels of our sold-out show last December, expect another night packed full of classic hits from the likes of The Human League, Duran Duran, Depeche Mode, Yazoo, Pet Shop Boys, Ultravox, Simple Minds, Erasure and many more in a fast paced, full length show that will appeal to anyone who loves the irresistible sounds of this much-loved decade – still regarded by many as one the most innovative and enduring periods in music ever.
Using a combination of modern technology and vintage instrumentation, Party Fears Three deliver a show that in terms of sound and visuals strongly evokes the bands of the time but is also stamped with their own identity, making it an interesting and appealing night out for anyone that has an affinity for the great music of this era and something a little different from what you might expect from conventional tribute bands.
FINGERHALO (FEATURING JO CALLIS)
Jo Callis will be a name already known to many through his pivotal contribution to the genre defining work of The Human League – not to mention Edinburgh punk/new wave legends The Rezillos - so it is with enormous pleasure that we can announce Jo's new band FingerHalo as our very special guests for this show.
It’s all punk rock to English-born, Edinburgh-based Jo. If you think you know him from League hits DYWM, Love Action, The Lebanon and Louise, plus Rezillos chart toppers Can’t Stand My Baby, Top Of The Pops and Destination Venus – you’re not wrong, but be prepared to think again when you experience FingerHalo live.
Don’t ask what they sound like – ask what they don’t sound like. Inspired by the rock’n’roll that led him to pick up a ukulele at the age of 10, ferocious live guitarist Jo will deliver gutsy, rebellious new takes on some of the songs he’s best known for, some he learned his trade from, and new tracks that point to the future. Expect explosive energy.
