Nuriyya has been dancing, teaching and researching dance history on the dance form commonly referred to as "Oriental Dance or " Belly Dance' " for more than 25 years. Living between Occident (Belgium) and Orient (Egypt), she fuses her love of these cultures with strong academic knowledge and excellent dance technique and teaching approach. She brings her spirited and articulate technique to workshops which include information on the history and cultures that generate the dances she teaches. She believes that we can all use art to build bridges across cultures. She is best known for her specialized workshops on traditional classical Oriental and Egyptian Folklore.
Travelling around the world, promoting authentical Egyptian Oriental Dance, she is lecturing, teaching and performing for the International Center for Oriental Dance Art and Culture in Brussels, Belgium and the International Saray for Oriental Saray in Cairo, Egypt. She also continues in her efforts to have Middle Eastern dance receive the recognition and respect that every other dance form enjoys.
