Join the Nova Scotia Gem & Mineral Society Sunday May 31 (Rain date Sat. June 13) for a journey to Ross Creek! Meeting Point: 12:00 noon. The Look-Off Family Campground. We will meet directly across the road from the Ice Cream Shop. Directions: From Canning follow Route 358 up the North Mountain to the top of the road. Turn Right and drive 1.5 km to go to the meeting point at the lookoff. Location of field trip, Ross Creek. Hike: easy to moderate terrain. Tide Times: High tide 11:35 am, falling to a low point at 5:40 pm. Minerals Reported: amethyst, agate, analcite, faroelite, heauandite, mortderite, petrified wood, jasper, and stillbite. CAR POOLS: Members to arrange among themselves by email, phone or Facebook. SAFETY GEAR!!!! You are all responsible to bring your own safety gear! Safety glasses, hard hat and sturdy foot wear are required, as well as water to drink. Don't forget a hat and sunscreen too!
