Two-time Grammy nominated saxophonist and flautist, Najee along with singer and songwriter, Gary Taylor will perform together for the first time in London.
Najee has made a career following his heart and keen musical intuition by pushing musical boundaries, all of which have made him an international pioneer in the music industry. Having collaborated with everyone in the music business from Prince, Quincy Jones to Stevie Wonder, Chaka Khan and Herbie Hancock, Najee’s technical agility, grace, compositional prowess, unbridled passion and fearless genre bending have made him one of the most sought after musicians of his generation. With two Platinum and four Gold albums under his belt, Najee is an icon whose musical vision spawned an entire new genre by fusing the music close to his heart (R&B and jazz). Najee is currently working on his new album, which will be released end of Spring 2015.
Gary Taylor released his debut album “G.T.” in 1983, following “Compassion” in 1988. In 1990, it was his album on Expansion Records entitled “Take Control”, that made the UK fall in love with Gary Taylor’s music. Further albums solidified that position. Along with his solo projects, Gary is an in-demand songwriter who has written songs for many international vocalists and musicians in the industry, including: Anita Baker (“Good Love”), The Whispers (“Just Gets Better with Time” and “My Heart Your Heart”), Lalah Hathaway (“I’m Coming Back”), Jennifer Holiday (“Love Stories”), The Mac Band (“Love You To The Limit”), Najee (“Moon Over Carolina”) and Will Downing ("Something Special") to name a few. Currently, Gary is working on his new CD slated for a release in Summer 2015. This will be his first appearance in the UK for over 20 years.
