Come and climb an active volcano! I have been enamored by the beauty of Mt. St. Helens for the past thirty years and have finally secured a permit for 12 persons (including myself) to do the Monitor Ridge route up to the crater rim of Mt. St. Helens in Washington. Have six spots still open. This climb is non-technical and has 5,600 feet of gain with a total of 11 miles of distance.
Only strong climbers who have been active in this group will be allowed on this trip. Depending on what our group decides, we will drive to Washington on Monday, June 8th, get acclimated and try some of the local trails in this beautiful part of the Pacific Northwest, and come back on June 11th. If there is interest, we could stay and do an extra day or two of hiking.
The permit fee is $22 per person paid in advance to secure your spot. In the case of inclement weather (making it treacherous), your $22 fee is non-refundable. As soon as we fill up the 12 spots, we will talk details.
