This 2 hour class is held once a month, towards the end of each month to provide adequate attention to be placed on learning and refining inversions, specifically headstand (sirsasana), shoulderstand (salamba sarvangasana), handstand (adho mukha vrksasana), and forearm stand (pinchamayurasana).
The session will explore preparatory sequences as well as modifications on how to safely, but most importantly mindfully, approach inversions. class size will be limited and is taught by a different jivamukti london teacher each month to offer diverse perspectives. It is strongly suggested to book in advance. Bring your questions and sense of adventure.
Nicola’s mum introduced her to yoga when she was 12 by buying her Yoga for Children (Mary Stewart). After hanging up her ballet pointe shoes when she was 14, Nicola practised yoga wherever she could, in church halls and school gyms, until she began a regular practice Ashtanga practice in Dublin, 2002.
Moving to London three years later she stumbled across Jivamukti Yoga, taught by Emma Henry at a gym, and felt as though she had come home. In 2007 Nicola trained as a Jivamukti teacher and taught in New Zealand for over a year before returning to London.
Nicola is indebted to cat alip-douglas who has been a consistent guiding light and guru; to all the teachers and students at Jivamukti for their on-going support and community; and to Sharon Gannon and David Life for encouraging all to live a more radical, awake, and ethical yogi life.
