Montgomery Martial Arts is hosting the Spring 2015 Montgomery Open Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Tournament (Gi and No-Gi) at Park Crossing High School on Saturday, May 16th.
EARLY BIRD SPECIAL - Register for up to 4 divisions for $40 until April 18th.
After April 18th registration starts at $40.00 online. Additional divisions are $10 each.
Competitor online registration deadline is 11:55 PM May 14th.
Day of registration starts at $55 for one division and $10 for each additional division.
We will be following NAGA rules for No-Gi and IBJJF for Gi. Grappling experience will determine the no-gi divisions and belt the gi divisions.
If there is no competitor within your division, you may choose to compete up one weight division, down one age division, or compete in the open division. A competitor must compete within his or her belt in gi division.
Competitors will need to compete to get team points. A default winner with no competitor will get a medal but no points.
Adults (18-29) / Masters (30-39) / Executives (40 and up)
•Novice (6 months total grappling experience)
•Beginner (6 months to 2 years total grappling experience)
•Intermediate (2 years to 5 years total grappling experience. BJJ blue belts are Intermediate)
•Expert (5 years + total grappling experience. BJJ purple, brown, black belts are Expert)
Children & Teens (4-6, 7-9, 10-12, 13-15, 16-17)
•Novice (6 months & under total grappling experience. Children are not allowed to do submissions)
•Beginner (6 months to 1 year total grappling experience)
•Intermediate (1 year to 2 years total grappling experience)
•Expert (2 years + total grappling experience)
Total grappling experience includes but is not limited to; wrestling experience, BJJ experience, judo experience, sambo experience, JKD experience, etc. Any training that consists of grappling is counted towards your total experience.
Gi competitors must compete in the division that they are belted in by their professor.
IMPORTANT: If you division does not make you will be move to next closest.

IMPORTANT: Due to the difficulty in estimating the start time for each division, as a general rule, get there early and be prepared to stay late. There are no refunds given to those who miss their scheduled matches.
