Mike Garner & Derek Jacombs take to the stage from 5pm, performing acoustic blues and original songs.
Mike Garner is a well known NZ Blues singer and songwriter. He has a wealth of blues experience, over nearly 40 years, having played in Europe, Australia, NZ and the Pacific, and Kathmandu in Nepal. He has made 6 CDs. A multi-instrumentalist, Mike plays acoustic, electric and resonator guitars, harmonica and occasionally mandolin and other stringed instruments too!
Derek Jacombs has done all sorts of musical things over the past thirty years, from producing and mixing many albums to writing music for theatre and television to being Artistic Director of the National Jazz Festival. He co-founded Kokomo with Grant Bullot and his brother Roger in 1991 and continues to be the band's main singer and songwriter.
