Meg Williams & Danny Ziemann will be playing at the Light Club Lamp Shop in Burlington, VT, on Tuesday May 26th, starting at 8:00pm!
Danny Ziemann is a jazz bassist, educator, and composer living in Rochester, NY. A 2012 graduate of the Eastman School of Music with degrees in Music Education and Jazz Bass Performance, he has been freelancing since the age of 16 and currently tours North America and Europe with swing dance popular bandleader Gordon Webster. In addition to active recording and session work, he can be seen performing at the Xerox Rochester International Jazz Festival, and with greats including Delfeayo Marsalis, Bill Dobbins, Don Menza, Dennis Mackrel, and Bobby Militello. Danny teaches Jazz Bass at the Eastman Community Music School (a division of the Eastman School of Music) and is an adjunct professor at SUNY Oswego. Danny is also a contributing author to the new D'Addario blog, Behind the Bridge, and recently published his first jazz bass method book entitled The Low Down.
Meg Williams is a guitarist and singer/songwriter currently based out of Rochester, NY. She plays frequently around Rochester, solo acoustic, duo with bassist, Danny Ziemann, and with her full band, Meg Williams Band (MWB). Meg has been busy performing all around the Greater Rochester area in popular venues such as Sticky Lips BBQ Juke Joint, Lovin’ Cup, and festivals, including the Park Ave Festival, Fairport Food & Music Festival, and the Canandaigua Art & Music Festival. In addition to playing with the full band, Meg has been featured at many singer-songwriter showcases, as both a performer and a judge. Meg's debut, full length album, "Troubles to the Wind," was released in May 2014. It can be found on iTunes, Amazon, CDbaby, Google Play, Spotify, (among other places), record stores Record Archive and Lakeshore Records, and can be requested on 98.9 “The Buzz.” Meg will be recording her next full-band EP in the Summer of 2015.
