Hz Duo/ Skerik/ Mother of Pearl 9:00pm: Skerik 10:00pm: Hz Duo 11:30pm: Mother of Pearl Skerik is an American saxophonist from Seattle, Washington. Performing on the tenor and baritone saxophone, often with electronics and loops, Skerik is a pioneer in a playing style that has been dubbed saxophonics. He is a founding member of Critters Buggin, Garage a Trois and Skerik's Syncopated Taint Septet. He is also an original member of both Les Claypool's Fancy Band and Frog Brigade and has toured with and played with numerous others in a variety of genres. Skerik also worked with Grunge band Mad Season. The Hz Duo (guitarist Cliff Hines and drummer G Maxwell Zemanovic) is an experimental rock band based out of New Orleans, LA. Their freeform style of performance defies convention and, while it is improvised, sounds entirely scripted. Utilizing Ableton Live for live looping / sound effects, Hines and Zemanovic craft full arrangements out of thin air. They have been featured at several improv-based music series such as the Racer Sessions, the Open Ears Music Series and even a round robin style concert with Jacob Fred Jazz Odyssey. Together, they also tour with the art rock outfit "Hildegard" (featuring vocalist Sasha Masakowski). Cliff Hines has spent years touring with punk-rock vibraphone legend Mike Dillon and.recently became the newest addition to contemporary jazz icon Christian Scott’s band. Zemanovic tours nationally with singer-songwriter Andrew Duhon. Born from the minds & hearts of five abnormally gifted Seattle musicians, Mother Of Pearl has been leaving a rare, powerful impression on the minds & hearts of music lovers throughout the Seattle area, beginning with their live debut in November 2013. Drawing from a widely-cast net of influences (listeners have reported traces of rock/pop/jazz/r&b/electronica, among many other genres) and an embarrassment of riches in the musicianship department (each member ranks among Seattle's most in-demand studio musicians), the band has quickly established renown for their meticulously crafted & distinctive songwriting, their commanding live shows & their utterly seamless ensemble mentality. No cover. The musicians are compensated by your donations. Reservations are available for patrons who are planning to have dinner before and during the show.
