Machines In Heaven - A three-piece electronica/bass/shoegaze act who materialized in 2011. Their harmonious digital collisions nearly covers the whole aural gamut, with Radiohead, Clark, Pixies and Glasgow’s decibal-decimating pioneers Mogwai sharing experimental space with genres including bass culture, Warp and Detroit.
Off the back of an outstanding response to their Hindu Milk EP and plaudits from industry heavyweights XLR8R & Billboard Magazine to name a few, Machines in Heaven have stepped up again with another electrifying single - Displacer. Due to be released 5th June. (That's one day before this gig!).
Here is a taste of what to expect...
Displacer is a pulsating reflection on love, beauty and homelessness. With a noticeable presence of their specialist trademark synth technique this one is a sure fire dancefloor diamond. Building on the climactic sound they developed over their previous 2 releases, this output slips and slides into existence from the get go, flipping the verse / chorus axis, and building to a mighty bass & synth counterpoint halfway through. Just as you think Connor's guitar is the final note, the outro kicks in, wobbling & glitching its way to an uncertain but beautiful future, probably run by machines. Getting lost in this experimental treat is almost automatic.
'“AN INTRIGUING COLLISION OF VARIED INFLUENCES, WITH NODS TO EVERYTHING FROM SHOEGAZE TO PRINCE AND APHEX TWIN” - MTV
Bessa (Handpicked) - 21 year old Glaswegian producer - Sam Bessa Reader.
"it’s only recently that we’ve truly locked into his groove, discovering a wealth of chrome-cut instrumentals and edits which gleam effortlessly in the winter sun. Slick, crisp and downright funky, they’re the type of beats you could hear someone like Common rapping over – sample heavy and bathed in soul." - Synth Glasgow
Arm Wtchs Fngrs (Handpicked) - Arm Watches Fingers - "An experimental producer who uploads music periodically, his sound is abstract, obscure and absorbing. There is an air of mystery which surrounds him and it makes his most recent release, ‘Sensi Cut’, all the more intriguing" - Synth Glasgow
And if that wasn't enough to blow your ears off - Mr. Tuner (Handpicked) will be providing the after party beats!
