St James College, Bentleigh East, in association with Mentone Girls’ Grammar School proudly present Macbeth. 'Macbeth' is a Shakespearean tragedy that interpreted ancient Scottish history for James 1 of England, who ascended to the Scottish throne first through Banquo and Fleance, and reveals how truth prevails even with the great adversity of Macbeth's obsessive greed for power. After a chance meeting with three witches Macbeth places his faith in their prophesy after he has been promoted to Thane of Cawdor. His wife, Lady Macbeth, plays a pivotal role in motivating his ambition to become King; however this is as far as her deadly deeds transpire. Macbeth enters into a rampage of terror as he fights to control his paranoia over the security of his crown, eventually succumbing to his fate and thus allowing the true heirs to regain the throne.
