Following up on the success of last year, the festival will include a day of free outdoor programming at the Lulaworld stage presented by CBC Toronto at Dundas West Fest on June 6. The days activities will continue our celebration of the the music and dances of the Americas!
Grand Bateria Express (12 Pm)
Be a part of Canada’s biggest Brazilian drumming performance to date! Learn the parts by watching the videos for each percussion part. Not a drummer? Herman Olivera And Lula All Stars (2:30 Pm)
One of the most highly-respected American salsa vocalists of our day, Miami-based Herman Olivera and local salsa luminaries team up for an evening of Olivera’s repertoire. Born in New Jersey of Puerto Rican parents, Olivera, has recorded 5 albums with Manny Oquendo and Conjunto Libre including classics “Que Humanidad,” “Decídete” y “No me Echen la Culpa”.
Led by charismatic trombonist Dizzzy D, the Arsenals are known for their energetic fusion of authentic Jamaican ska, rocksteady rhythms and pop and have performed with legends such as Toots and The Maytals, Monty Morris, Lord Tanamo (Skatallites) and The Satellites.
Saint O (5:30 Pm)
Musicians from St. Lucia, St. Vincent, Grenada and Trinidad & Tobago come together under the direction of drummer Jermaine St. Omer to create Afro-Caribbean jazz that combines classic Caribbean steel pan, a killer rhythm section, vocals and horns.
Jesus Alemany And La Reunion (7 Pm)
Former members of the legendary Cuban groups Klimax, Sierra Maestra, NG La Banda and Cubanismo! join us from England, Mexico, Montreal, Ottawa and Toronto for a special concert dedicated to the classic music of Cubanismo!. The concert will revisit the groups high energy dance music created over two decades under Alemañy’s leadership and will include some new compositions, co-written with Toronto’s own Pablosky Rosales. Featuring very special guests Alina Vila (Mexico), Miguel de Armas (Ottawa), and Jordan Martinez (Montreal).
Los Otros (8:30 Pm)
The magnetic vocalist Julián Marz leads this energetic six piece playing classic Spanish rock and pop. With Antonio Sosa on guitar, Eduardo González on keys, Oriana Barbato on bass, Anita Graciano on percussion and Randolf Jiménez drums.

Celebrating The Music And Dance Of The Americas!
Now in its tenth year, the annual Lulaworld festival brings together Toronto’s finest world, jazz and Latin musicians presenting their latest compositions and projects and collaborating with celebrated international guests. With the Toronto2015 PANAM games just around the corner, Lulaworld 2015 promises to be a pre-party that will get Toronto dancing to the music of the Americas.
Following up on the success of last year, the festival will include a day of free outdoor programming as part of Dundas West Fest on June 6. Lulworld 2015 includes CD releases, more than a dozen international guests, free concerts, family workshops and a huge Brazilian parade that YOU can be part of!
