Locomotive Ghost - www.locomotiveghost.com
Locomotive Ghost plays bold, dynamic indie-folk music that incorporates elements of alt-rock, pop, and spoken word. The Calgary-based quintet samples scientific backgrounds, exposes personal anecdotes, and injects creative improbabilities to craft songs that are “at once artistically expressive, accessible, fun, and full of small surprises” (Avenue Calgary). The group draws from influences like The Head and The Heart, Shane Koyczan, Feist, and Mother Mother to create "a mature and confident sound that stands out from a lot of Canadian bands right now" (Grayowl Point).
Scott MacKay - www.scottmackay.ca
With a unique voice that croons and swoons, Scott MacKay is dark and light, new but old, a bit of Johnny Cash with threads of Roy Orbison woven into the mystery of a Ray Bradbury novel. The Prince Edward Island born singer / songwriter has garnered awards locally and internationally including the Calgary Folk Festival Songwriting Competition and the International Songwriting Competition.
Scott is currently working on his second album with Leeroy Stagger, set to release in July 2015. This album is sure to turn heads as Scott seduces listeners with his sultry voice and songs filled with thoughtful lyrics that ride on haunting melodies.
