 Lively Up Newcastle
Now this is a bit of a special one for us. May 23rd is the date of the first Newcastle Unity Festival, which is a pretty big deal for Lively Up, World Headquarters, and the people of this fine city. Between the hours of 1pm and 8pm, Leazes Park will play host to the likes of Ms. Dynamite, Natty, Akala and Punjabi MC… For absolutely nowt. Zero. Completely free. We’ll even have our own resident DJs there, and our brothers Common Unity Sound System will be providing the reggae from their very own Dub Corner. BUT. We couldn’t let the party end there, so we took it upon ourselves to provide a suitable after party for such a momentous occasion. With that in mind, Lively Up vs. Pirate Material brings to you… SPOOKY & ARIES. Tickets - SPOOKY BIZZLE. Where do we start? He’s a resident at Deja Vu FM, the UK’s most influential underground radio station. He’s also a repeat offender at Jamz, the series of events ran by Butterz’ Elijah & Skilliam. With releases on Oil Gang, and his own record label, Ghost House, Spooky has it locked down when it comes to tearing up the turntables and providing the finest productions. The Pirate Material crew has been awaiting this man’s appearance for some time now, trigger fingers at the ready for some primetime grime! Spartan Pulse 007 Boxed 2nd Birthday Mix ARIES.
