The FNF Western Balkans' Liberal Photo Competition 2015 is open to all photographers: amateurs and professionals from Serbia, Croatia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo and Albania. Anyone over 18 years of age can enter the competition with the exception of employees of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom (FNF).
Before submitting a photo and entering the competition, please read the following terms and conditions.
To enter the competition, you must upload your image to Facebook at www.facebook.com/FNFWesternBalkans or submit it via email to email@example.com.
The deadline for submitting an image is June 01, 2015.
The max number of individual images one may submit is 10. Each image must be submitted with a description which allows Facebook viewers and judges to understand the context and the meaning of the image. Images without a description shall not qualify as winning candidates.
The motive of the image should deal with at least one of the following liberal themes:
Freedom, equality, transparency, religious freedom, economic freedom, rule of law, human rights, subsidiarity, the individual vs. the state, competition, tolerance.
To allow us to fully understand and appreciate your image, please provide a description of the image. The story is equally important to us as the image itself.
MOTIVES NOT ALLOWED
The images must not show the following:
- Political party events,
- Party logos or promotional materials
- Political candidates or officials of political parties
- Copyright violating content
- Nudity or excessive gore
Winning entrants must be able to provide a high resolution digital file. This file will be used to prove the ownership of the image and for high quality print for the exhibition, June 29. Winning entrants who do not fulfill these eligibility criteria will be deemed ineligible and disqualified.
Images that have won prizes in other competitions or that have been submitted in other competitions currently underway are eligible.
There is no time or date restriction on when the image was taken.
All entries must be the original work of the entrant and must not infringe the rights of any other party. The entrant must be the sole copyright owner of all photographs entered and must have obtained permission of any people featured in the entries. Further, the entrant must not have breached any laws when taking their photographs.
COPYRIGHTS & USAGE RIGHTS
Copyright of the images will remain at all times with the photographer. Additional restrictions may be applied by Facebook.
Images will be used strictly in connection to the competition and the related events and will not be used for any other marketing purposes. Images will not be resold or used by any other third party. If there is a request for such, we will forward that request to the photographer via e-mail.
To promote winners of the contest FNF is granted the right to display images on social network websites (on our official profiles) including: Facebook and Twitter.
An international jury will select a non-fixed number of exceptional images. Those images will be publicly exhibited in Belgrade on June 29. The venue will be announced timely.
Authors of selected images will be invited to the exhibition event and given the possibility to tell the story behind the image.
The jury will also select three winning images. Authors those three images will also be invited to the regional seminar event “Basics of Liberalism” June 28-30, hosted by Dr. Stefan Melnik. FNF will cover travel and hotel costs for the winners.
- Files must meet the following specifications:
- sRGB or Adobe98 colour space, 8-bit;
- Longest dimension should not exceed 3000 pixels; (minimum 1200 width)
- Saved as a JPEG at a setting of 10 (100%) or higher.
- No Watermarks / Copyright Units / Logos on images
- Only bleed photographs without borders
- No annotations
