Three days after my graduation from Manhattan School of Music, on Monday, May 18th, 2015, Klazz Ma Tazz will be kicking off their 2nd year with a set of brand new music to be premiered from 8-9pm at Silvana (the cousin of Shrine World Music Venue where Klazz had their debut performance in May, 2014).
With a vision of fusing klezmer and jazz together in the most authentic of ways, our music transcends the usual culmination of these genres, opting for klezmer inspired jazz rather than jazz inspired klezmer. Taking elements of cultural backgrounds from members of the entire group, our music has absorbed distinct flavors of Indian Classical Music, Native American Tribal Songs and much more. We have a plethora of new and exciting collaborations and news for this coming year as well!
Silvana, located at 300 W. 116th Street (at Fredrick Douglas Blvd.) is right off the B and C trains at 116th St. as well as off the M101 and M11 MTA Busses. I hope you can come dance to our music and celebrate the commencement of our 2nd year creating music and bringing people together from around the world. To accompany your stay, enjoy the abundant selection of beverages and Mediterranean food including some of the best of Falafel I’ve ever tried!
This event is FREE!
