BDS Monthly Kizomba workshop Sat. May, 23rd 2015
by Dennis Richards & Oriel Maria Siu
These workshops are designed to teach Kizomba to both new and experienced Kizomba dancers. We stress teaching you the basic skills that help you improve as a dancer overall. Achieve better musicality, balance, and movement dynamics in our 4-hour Kizomba Intensive.
3:30pm-4:30pm Basics are the heart of this dance. Learn the basic 1, basic 2 and basic 3 and how to intersperse them as you dance. Basics with a twist added for intermediate students.
4:45pm-5:45pm WE WILL BE WORKNG SAIDAS. Follows and Leads receive specific training in walking with weight transfers that promote a strong lead follow dynamic connection. Follows work with Oriel on grounding their steps and embellishments to walking. She slows it down and helps follows extend and find that sweet spot in their movement without interrupting the lead. Leads work with Dennis to create layers to their dancing via pauses, subtle hip movements(ginga), and spacing dynamics that keep the follow interested and engaged.
6:00pm-7:00pm (INTERMEDIATE) WE WILL BE WORKING ON SAIDAS. Dancers at this level have no substantial problems performing saidas. Instructor's focus is on heightening dancer's partner connection via a series of dance patterns. Material immediately usable on the dance floor.
$15 each. Please register at @ http://belltowndancestudio.com/kizomba
