We're going on another fun adventure! We'll float the San Juan River from Sand Island to Mexican Hat (on the AZ/UT border near Monument Valley), a total of 27 miles in 2 days (Tues-Wed 5/26-27). We'll pass lots of petroglyphs and ruins along the way. There are three named Class 2 (easy) rapids, with more fun all along the way.
We have two people going so far and will go regardless of how many more people join. Sorry for the late notice, but we recently grabbed a last-minute permit, and we can add more people (but let me know soon before the slots get taken by other groups). The BLM permit costs $10/person -- I'll consider you're going with us if/when you pay $10 so I can pay for your spot -- you can send Paypal to a friend (firstname.lastname@example.org).
If you want to go, the rest is easy -- we can help you find a kayak or packraft and the other items you'll need for the trip. It won't be too hard to get ready. I will be coming from Utah (Utah people want to caravan?) so Arizonans would need to find their own ride. We'll meet up at the put in spot near Bluff, UT, targeting put in around 11 am Utah time -- would be best if you can camp Monday night nearby like in Monument Valley. (I know midweek isn't ideal but at least it's right after the holiday weekend.)
(If you are also interested in tacking on another adventure, we will float the White River (Class 2 rapids) near Vernal UT on 5/22-23).
