Joshua Landon lost his battle against cancer in 1990. Although only in the 4th grade, his life touched so many around him. That year, the Frank Sparkes Elementary students planted a tree in Josh's memory. Today, 25 years later, the tree stands tall, but the memory why the tree was planted has faded.
The Relay for Life of Atwater is teaming up with the student council of Frank Sparkes Elementary to re-dedicate the Joshua Landon Tree, which is near the bike racks in front of the school.
