John Spence is running the Chester Half Marathon in support of The Ross Smith Foundation. Ross was a keen sportsman and active runner who passed away in 2014 due to developing cancer. After 33 years the Chester Half is one of the UK’s longest established and highly regarded half marathons. The race starts at the city centre Chester Racecourse. Heading northwest out of the city on wide roads, with plenty of support and music along the way. In the second half of the race the runners return to Chester for an unforgettable finish outside the Town Hall and Cathedral. “The Ross Smith Foundation” is used to fund and help support young people with cancer, their families, cancer research, grassroots football and other generally good causes. If you would like to donate you can give directly to John & Jan Spence, or send money via paypal to the account: (Reference: Johns Run!) Good luck John & all the best with the race!
