The Lewis and Clark Interpetive Center in Sioux City, Iowa will present of concert of Danish music on Sunday, May 24th, 2015. The concert will feature local musician, Dwight Lamb on the button accordion, playing Danish tunes that he learned from his grandfather, Chris Jerup. Chris left Denmark in 1895 and brought many Danish tunes to Iowa. He played the fiddle and accordion for neighborhood dances in rural western Iowa. Mette Jensen and Kristian Bugge have learned many of these tunes from Dwight and will performing with Dwight for this concert. The mission of Lewis and Clark Center is to promote and preserve the local history and the varied cultures that settled there.
