...and you can be a part of it. If we can paint a picture of hundreds of acts of protest against Shell popping up all over the country, we can show Shell the true scale of opposition to its Arctic drilling plans.
So this weekend, show solidarity with the people of Seattle by taking a picture of yourself and your friends with a #PeopleVsShell sign in front of a Shell gas station -- and then posting it to social media.
With just 65 days to go until the Arctic drilling season starts, now is the time when we need to make our voices heard. Shell still thinks it can quietly sneak up to the Arctic -- most Americans don’t know about its reckless plans there. And that makes it easier for Shell to get government approval for its plans.
So let’s cause an outrage. If we make Arctic drilling as controversial as the Keystone XL pipeline was, it will become much harder for the government to let Shell continue. The key to that is voicing our opposition at every turn and spreading the word that Arctic drilling is a terrible idea.
The more of us show up, the more people will hear us. So, grab your friends, go to a Shell station and tweet your picture! Your picture will join thousands of other protest pictures from Seattle and elsewhere. Sign up now.
