Irish Salsa Championships 2015
The first Irish Salsa & Bachata Championships will be held on June 6th 2015, in _Venue____________ at _____Time______pm.
The competition will consist of 2 categories for both Salsa and Bachata: Professional & Amateur.

Competition Level Definitions
The Irish Salsa & Bachata Championships are open to all levels. There will be 2 Divisions open for application for each style, Salsa and Bachata.
A dancer who is receives financial compensation for teaching or performing.
One who does not teach or perform for money. Minimal amounts may have been received to cover small expenses, but should not be a major source of income.
The format for the Championships will remain consistent for both Salsa & Bachata.
The number of heats (stages) will be determined by the number of registered competitors involved.
Each stage of the the competition will take the following format:
At the beginning of every stage of the competition a draw will be made to determine order of performance.
Each stage will consist of 2 rounds.
Competitors will dance to 2 songs with a duration of 1.5 minutes and 2 minutes respectively
Round 1: All Couples perform a choreography together (90 seconds) on the floor to a song chosen by the organisation.
After the stipulated time couples will be scored and selected for the next Round
Round 2: Couples will compete individually for 2 minutes to another song chosen by the organization
The Final will take the same format
The winning couple in the professional division will receive €500 and the Professional trophy for 2015
The winning couple in the amateur division will receive €250 and the Amateur trophy for 2015
The decision on the competition format is the final decision of the Jury
Salsa & Bachata Championship Rules & Guidelines
Terms and conditions of the Irish Salsa & Bachata Competition are outlined below. These rules have been established, reviewed and finalised by the organiser. Any queries relating to the competition rules are to be directed to Salsadublin@gmail.com
Contestants must register for the appropriate category for their level as defined above (professional / Amateur)
Routine must be recognisable salsa in the case of the Salsa Championships
Routine must be recognisable Bachata (Sensual or Dominican) in the case of the Bachata Championships
Breaking On1 or On2 is permitted but must remain consistent throughout the routine
Lifts, Drops, tricks & shines are permitted
Costumes are required
All Competitors must have registered and paid the required registration fee 2 weeks prior to the date of the competition
All Competitors must have enrolled and been assigned their competition numbers a minimum of 1 hour before competing
All competitors must be prepared to dance 30 minutes prior to scheduled dance time, and must arrive early to pick up their competition number.
The Jury decision is final and it is not allowed for competitors or related third parties to express discomfort or disagreement with the competition results
Should the Organisation observe any inappropriate conduct or attitude by competitors or related third parties, competitors will take full responsibility and be penalised appropriately (up to and including disqualification)
Competitors are advised to have a 2 minute choreography prepared for their routine. The same choreography can be used in all heats.
This choreography can be adapted to suit their 90 second routine (round 1)
Contestants will be judged on the following by the panel:
Timing, musicality, connection, posture, Technique, style, performance (energy), personality, floor work (use of the space), presentation.
