When: Wednesday evenings 7.15 - 9.15 pm
Term 2 begins 3 June
This course is divided into three terms in the year. The second seven week course on Loving Kindness begins 4 June.
Tibetan Buddhism is one of the great spiritual traditions of the world, and at its heart are its timeless teachings on wisdom and compassion.
This course introduces the main principles of wisdom, including impermanence, interdependence and emptiness, showing us how an understanding of these can be a powerful guide in finding happiness in our daily lives. We also examine ways in which we can work with our heart and mind, starting from wherever we find ourselves now, to discover our own potential for love and compassion.
Authentic meditation techniques are taught throughout the course, developing our experience of peace and clarity of mind. In addition, students also have the opportunity to learn the rich and rewarding compassion practices of loving kindness, the four immeasurable qualities, and tonglen.
This course is for those who have participated in term 1, have attended the What Meditation Really Is course (above), or who have other experience of Tibetan Buddhism.
