Honey Mead & Wild Wines Brew Your Own Ancient Beverages Participants must be 21 years of age or older and have proof of age. Historically, there have been four natural intoxicating beverages: wine, beer, mead and cider. In this workshop, you will explore the art of home brewing and learn how to craft your own honey wine (mead) and wild wine. Not only will you will discover how easy, fun and inexpensive it is to create these types of brews at home, you will start your first batches while in class! Mead. A simple drink of fermented honey and water, mead has a long, rich history that goes back thousands of years. It is possibly the oldest fermented drink known to man. Wild Wine. We'll demonstrate step by step how to make simple and great tasting wines using ingredients from your local market and even your own backyard! This class is intended for the beginning mead and wine maker, however, all skill levels are invited. Each participant will receive a glass quart jar of mead & wine, complete with cap, bung, and airlock, as well a detailed handout. TAKE HOME: 1 quart Mead 1 quart of Wild Wine All materials included in the price of tuition About the Instructor: Jordanne Dervaes is the homestead's resident brewmeister. She loves brewing up medieval & herbal concoctions.
