Holy Sheboygan of Appleton, WI
Holy Sheboygan! emerge from the dark woods naked, a wild tangle of hair and dirt. They open mouths filled with jagged teeth. A rough yowl echoes through the dusk.
Holy Sheboygan! is a band of scavengers. Creeping through the alleys of musical sound, they borrow melodies from a wide array of genres, tape-recorded noise from their everyday lives, and percussion from the abundant dumpsters of the Fox Valley. By their very nature, they can be described as nothing other than 'garbage folk.'
Mulberry Soul was conceived in 2012 near Naples, NY and blends folk, bluegrass, and old time fiddle music with stunningly soulful original songs. Formed by a core group of the East Hill Ramblers, Mulberry Soul has produced two short EP albums in 2012 and is working on their first full length album to be released in Summer 2015. Get your dancing feet ready because the show is sure to be packed with some smoking picking on mandolin, guitar, banjo, bass and fiddle.
The Folkfaces are a Buffalo-based Americana & Roots quintet. A blend of blues, jazz, jug-band, folk(oh really?), punk, rockabilly and more. Taking inspiration from the mountains of Appalachia to the deltas of Mississippi to the swamps of Louisiana to the Concrete Jungle of the Rustbelt. All together they blend folk music, the blues and hot jass with present issues to make old-timey tunes that'll wake the dead. Their music is a combination of early 20th century hokum, jugband style and original foot-stomping good times. Specializing in merriment and sticking it to the system (with a combination of rowdy folk music and equal-opportunity roasting), Folkfaces make the crowd dance, and the hierarchy shatter
