Tula is a senior Corgi that was found wandering the streets and was taken to the Bossier City, Alabama Animal Control shelter. The staff believe that she has been used for breeding and once she could no longer do so she was dumped. This poor little girl was only 11 pounds, had extremely long nails and a number of suspected health problems including heartworm. Because of her health the shelter would only allow her to be released to a rescue organization.
Luckily for Tula, Hollie Roberts stepped up to adopt her after seeing posts shared by Judith Shook Rivet, and FaithBark Inc. offered to use it's nonprofit paperwork to pull her for Hollie. Thus began Tula's journey from Alabama to Georgia and her new home and new life!
Tula will need to be examined by a veterinarian to find out all of her health problems. She will probably need to be spayed, and clearly she will need to be fed a good diet so that she can gain some weight. Hollie has submitted an application to CorgiAid for assistance. However it will take time to be reviewed and the sooner she can be examined and treated, the better.
Money from this fundraiser will go toward veterinary care plus food and personal items that Tula will need, and that CorgiAid cannot provide. Josie C Rhoads-Verbeek will be collecting the funds and paying the vet directly. We will let everyone know if CorgiAid does take Tula as a client and will end this fundraiser at that time.
