I am officially a 2015 rider for Texas 4000! Texas 4000 is the longest annual philanthropic bike ride in the world. The organization was founded in 2003 at The University of Texas in Austin by Christopher Condit who is a cancer survivor himself. He combined two of his passions: fighting cancer and outdoor adventure to create a legacy of Texas 4000. Texas 4000's mission is to fight cancer by sharing Hope, Knowledge and Charity by biking more than 4,500 miles, crossing 20 states and 5 canadian territories from Austin to Anchorage in 70-days. Prior to the ride, each team member is required to raise at least $4,500, which is a dollar for every mile. My personal goal is $6000.00. All of the funds raised are donated to MD Anderson and LIVESTRONG. During the 70-days, the team spreads Hope by exchanging stories of people who have fought, are fighting, have defeated or have left a permanent stain on our hearts. We let families affected by cancer know that there are people riding for them to eliminate cancer. At each stop, we share Knowledge by bringing and giving life-saving information about cancer prevention and facilities available for help. We share Charity by maintaining our commitment to support cancer research and find a cure against the disease. We ride for those who are fighting cancer, for those who have survived cancer and for those without who's memories we could not live. We ride for a cure.
Every donation counts! Below is the link to my donation page. With each donation, please feel free to express who you would like me to ride for, in honor of or just to keep in mind during my journey from ATX to Anchorage.
