Myofascial Release is a technique that uses sustained pressure to re-pattern the muscles and fascia, creating more freedom and flexibility in the connective tissues. Since every muscle, bone, nerve, artery, vein and organ is connected through connective tissue (fascia), understanding how tightness in one area can cause chronic pain in another is tremendously important for optimal health and a sustainable yoga practice.
This workshop will help students learn how to identify if tightness in one area of the body is causing pain in another. Students will move through a full body myofascial practice using blocks and tennis balls (provided with workshop fee) to release every major muscle from head to toe… think self administered deep tissue massage!

ABOUT SHAELYN: Shaelyn has been teaching yoga and studying various healing modalities for several years. Most recently, Shaelyn studied Chinese Medicine as it pertains to Myofascial Release with International Yoga Teacher, Tiffany Cruikshank, as part of her Advanced 500 hr. training program in Thailand.
