Headlong have been growing in and around the London modern rock music scene since they formed in 2012, building a repertoire of vibrant, powerful, feel-good original songs, based around infectious hooks and a wry sense of humour, reminiscent of groups such as the Oasis, Foo Fighters, Supergrass and New Radicals, which have attracted the attention of established artists and businesses in the music industry. http://www.headlongmusic.com/
Some of you may think that we have been a little neglectful of our local area since we started gigging up in London, playing at venues such as 93 Feet East and the O2 Academy Islington, and after coming to a realisation that less and less people are willing to pay £12 for a travelcard, we felt it was the right time to pretend to be homesick and book another local gig, so people know that we're still alive!
We chose The Albany because of it's convenient location (one 229/269/B14 bus ride away for you locals, and directly opposite Albany Park Train Station for you Londoners), and also because of our great (beer-shit free, a rarity in the area) experience there back in January when we supported psychedelic rock band Papernut Cambridge.
Special guests include the fantastic TREY QUA, an accomplished acoustic singer-songwriter and beatboxer who has played the Royal Albert Hall way too many times to be supporting a shitty band like us at a local pub.
We'll be distributing tickets online for just £5 each - all ages are welcome but kids must be accompanied by a responsible adult (due to The Albany's license as a pub) - and you will need ID to prove you are of legal age if you wish to drink (sorry McLovin).
