Harrisonburg's Bicycle & Pedestrian Plan provides a framework for enhancing the safety and attractiveness of walking and biking through on- and off-street improvements and public programs. The current Bicycle & Pedestrian Plan was adopted in 2010 and is now being updated for 2016.

March 23, 2015 - Kick off at Bicycle & Pedestrian Subcommittee meeting.
May 19, 2015 - Public Workshop.
May/June 2015 - Written comments will be received. Information forthcoming.
Summer 2015 - Meet with advisory groups and community stakeholder groups.
Summer/ Fall 2015 - Develop draft plan.
Winter 2015/2016 - Release draft plan for public input and host public meeting.
Spring 2016 - Bicycle & Pedestrian subcommittee makes recommendation to Transportation Safety & Advisory Commission and to Planning Commission, and Commissions’ recommendations will be presented to City Council for consideration of adoption.
