Hardwick Hall Commemoration Sunday 17th May 2015
Opening for the garden, park, shop and restaurant are open daily 9.00am to 6.00pm.
Entry on this particular day Sunday 17th May 2015, for members of the Parachute Regiment and Airborne Forces admission is free if Airborne Dress worn and includes their relatives.
Parking is available in the area near the Stable Yard and the entrance facilities and a golf cart transport is available for those that can’t walk too well to go to the top walled garden where the parade with take place. Parking is sign posted. Coaches will be directed by the gate staff.
Food is available in the restaurant provided by the National Trust. In addition a Kiosk will be available in the garden area where the service and march past takes place.
Those attending are advised to gather in the area around the stables to use the facilities there including toilets etc. but then to make their way to the walled garden where the parade will take place.
Seating will be available and members are reminded to leaves the front singular seats for Honoured Guests. The main seating front row should be left for those with physical disabilities that need easy access.
10:00hrs – onwards - Veterans and guests Gather in the walled garden.
10:30hrs – 11:15hrs - West Yorkshire Police Band play a medley of music.
11:30hrs – - Those marching move to form up area in Wine Glass (See plan)
11:45hrs – - March on.
11:55hrs – - Open Commemoration by Padre Rodney.
12:00hrs – BMF Dakota Fly over (3 Passes) Band plays 633Sqn/617
12:10hrs - Service of commemoration continues
12:20hrs - Saluting Officer moves to Monuments for wreath Laying
Same time WWII Veterans move to line up aside Monument and plays
12:25hrs Wreath laid by Saluting Officer followed by Last Post
1 Minutes Silence followed by Reveille
12:30hrs - Return to Position and Service continues
13:30hrs - Afternoon continues at Doe Lea Club, Including
Raffle and entertainment
