Welcome to GUU Ancients and GUU Women’s 2015! Scotland’s premier competitions are back again on Friday 15 May and Saturday 16 May 2015, bringing you all two days of the best debaters; judges; and socials of the year! On Sunday 17 May 2015 GUU Women’s also takes place, following on from the great success of Scotland’s first female debating competition last year. GUU Ancients takes place over two days with five rounds of seven minute speeches with a break to semi-finals. The final will be hosted in the world famous GUU Debates Chamber where some of the best known names in British politics first cut their teeth. Before the final we will be putting on our usual three course, black tie dinner at which you can relax, schmooze and share a drink with the brightest and best of the debating circuit, IoNA and beyond! Afterwards, let your hair down and reel the night away at our fantastic, traditional Scottish ceilidh with an authentic, yes – authentic, ceilidh band providing you all with some tunes. Of course, no GUU Ancients social would be complete without our irresistible Yakka so we’ll, as ever, be throwing in a few bins for good measure for everyone to enjoy!
