Let the crazy training begin!
Hello there facebookians,
Despite having no skills using a bicycle, I have decided to take on the Gibb River Challenge which is a grueling 700+ kilometer team relay event through the Kimberly held annually.
My team will be attempting to ride across the Gibb River road from Derby, on the WA coast, to Kununurra near the NT boarder. For some of you triathlon/bicycle riding types this may seem like a walk in the park, however as someone who hasn’t jumped on a bike since 1st year of high school, this may well destroy me.
So why put myself through this? Well apart from the fact that I recon it’ll be an epic adventure, it’s all in the name of raising money for the nominated charity Kyle Andrews Foundation (see blurb on donation page). Our team the "Goldfields Gunnas", consisting of 6 riders from the Kalgoorlie/Boulder region, is required to raise $1000 each for the foundation before the end of November.
So if you either want “Russo’s death by bicycle” OR to raise money for children in regional WA with cancer, please donate through the link below!
