Carson Moore passed away recently, and we are saddened by his unexpected death. Since then, many of us have reconnected to share memories and photos of Carson, but that doesn't feel like enough to commemorate our dear friend. His family has opted not to hold a memorial service, but they have given their consent for Carson's friends to hold an informal celebration in his honor. As his good friend Lynsee said, "I know [Carson] would love for us all to laugh, drink, and celebrate such a beautiful human."
The gathering will be a potluck on May 17 at Walnut Barn at MLK Park (formerly Walnut Park). It will be a no-host potluck, so please bring a dish to share, as well as plates, utensils, & your beverage of choice for yourself and your family. Alcohol is permitted. If you feel inclined to bring a beverage to share, please do!
In honor of the artist and creative spirit that Carson was, people will be bringing art supplies, drums, and musical instruments. Consider bringing art supplies and musical instruments if it suits you. If would like to bring any of Carson's artwork or stories, or stories and art about Carson, we will set up a place to display them as well.
I will be compiling a photo slideshow. Please tag me (Sara Hoskinson) in photos or email them to me at firstname.lastname@example.org. If you'd rather bring physical pictures, we can put them on display as well.
The shelter has been rented for us for a fee, so we are collecting a suggested $10 (cash) to reimburse Ajai, but regardless of money or food or beverage or photos other logistical what-have-you, just come and honor our friend.
Please invite others you know who would like to commemorate Carson. I'm sorry for forgetting anyone! And please pass the message along to our non-facebooking friends like Sage as well.
Rachel Aronson Garvin and Edie Sperling have offered places for some folks to stay overnight if needed. Contact them on facebook. If you live in Corvallis and would be willing host some crashers, you can post on this event.
If you are unable to attend but would like to send a card to Carson's family, their address is 1178 NW Country CT, Corvallis, OR, 97330.
