The Gay City Arts Curating Council is seeking proposals for the 2015-2016 Season: Queer Revolution. We invite LGBTQ artists to present the best of queer performance art in Gay City’s 40 seat fringe theater space, Calamus Auditorium. This is an opportunity to propose performances and events which seek to push the boundaries, perception and perspective of queer performance.
Art, and life, are a product of cycles. What seemed revolutionary before may seem commonplace now. What does it mean to be a queer artist today? What do today’s artists owe to the efforts of our queer ancestors? What will queer art look in the future? How will queer art bring about change?
Gay City Arts is committed to bringing the Seattle community the best of queer art and performance from a variety of disciplines. Theater, dance, music, performance art, spoken word, film/video, new media and interdisciplinary projects are welcome.
Applications due May 20, 2015 to email@example.com. The application and guidelines can be downloaded at: http://gaycity.org/arts-season
