May 16th: 1pm-3pm Ear Training and Group Improv with Gary Backstrom
This 2 hour class will focus on how to better your improvisational skills by participating in ear training games where you will learn to react to what your fellow musicians are playing. The focus will be on building grooves as a group and learning how to do group improv in a modal setting. You will come away from this session with ideas on how to make your band sound tighter as well as how to bring your personal sound into a group setting in a way that enhances the over all sound. You will also learn how to teach friends and band members how to do this on your own. The results are great and have been tested in many groups Gary has performed with.
