What: Gainesville Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) Rally and Protest
When: Saturday, May 16, 2015, 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM
Where: UF Health Brain Stimulation Center - Shands Hospital, 1600 SW Archer Rd, Gainesville, Florida
Electro-shock convulsive therapy, although deceitfully billed "safe" and "effective", received its final classification as a class 3 dangerous procedure from the FDA way back in 1979. That status, of course, has not changed since. May 16 has been selected as an International Day of Protest Against Electro-shock. In solidarity with electro-shock survivors everywhere, a march of protest is scheduled for that date in front of UF Health where such barbaric procedures are still being practiced.
Creative sign making, Saturday, May 9, 6:30 PM in the courtyard behind the Civic Media Center, 433 S Main St., Gainesville, FL.
See you there!
This action is co-sponsored by Occupy Gainesville and MindFreedom Florida.
