The Williston Northampton Choral Ensemble’s Spring Concert is not to be missed!
The centerpiece of the concert is Randall Thompson’s “Frostiana: Seven Country Songs.” This choral-orchestral masterwork sets seven poems by Robert Frost to beautiful music by one of America’s most celebrated composers and includes “Stopping By Woods On A Snowy Evening”, “The Road Not Taken”, and “Come In”.
The piece was commissioned by the Town of Amherst, Massachusetts on the event of its 200th anniversary. It premiered at Amherst Regional High School in 1959. The orchestra will include the Williston String Ensemble, Williston’s music faculty, and regional professionals.
The first half of the concert will feature the middle school chorus singing repertoire in other celebrated American styles, followed by new a capella arrangements by the Caterwaulers and Widdigers, celebrating a more current sound in American vocal styles.
Please join us for an evening of some of American’s finest music and genres.
