Please join The River Fund New York for the Spring 2015 Hunger to Hope fundraiser in support of Child Poverty Awareness Day!
What is Child Poverty Awareness Day?
Children are by far the largest demographic group facing the effects of poverty on a daily basis, and the least able to confront it. The River Fund New York launched Child Poverty Awareness Day in 2013 as an occasion at which the wider community can embrace children who live in poverty to give them a day of fun and entertainment in the midst of what is typically for them a boring summer school break. Child Poverty Awareness Day has since been and will continue to be an annually recurring occasion.
What is the River Fund?
The River Fund NY is the leading “Poverty Frontline Center” in Queens, helping more than 14k families annually. We have been recognized and awarded for our impact, metrics and innovation by the Foodbank, Oprah Winfrey & the Robin Hood foundation.
The mission of the River Fund NY is to feed & empower those we serve to move beyond the lines of poverty. We do this by providing weekly groceries, benefits access enrollment & support, and education pathways from cradle to college.
We can't wait to see you on the 21st! Thank you as always for your continued support!
