 Mike Allsop
Since 2011, dozens of Kiwis have trekked with Air NZ pilot and adventurer Mike Allsop to Everest Base Camp and these treks were made possible via the assistance of some of the most kindhearted, generous and hardworking Nepalese people who supported teams on their journeys. Pasang Temba was deaf and mute, kind and gentle man, who looked after climbers at Camp Two and cooked for Mike’s own Everest expedition. Sadly, Pasang was killed in the recent earthquake, at Everest base camp in the avalanche and his house ruined, leaving his wife, three daughters and his grandchildren homeless and without any income. They are currently living in a tent, with a freezing winter just around the corner and they desperately need our help. We want to rebuild Pasang’s home for his family and with any additional monies help support others to rebuild their lives. HOW YOU CAN HELP: We have organised two blockbuster movie fundraising evenings, with proceeds from ticket sales going to a special fund, to help Pasang’s family, as well as the families of others who lost their lives and homes in the earthquake.
